Notice regarding the business integration and the new company name. |

Effective December 26, 2003, the industrial laser division of HOYA PHOTONICS, a member company of the HOYA Group, was integrated into HOYA-SCHOTT Corporation through a simultaneous merger and separation. The new company, which was renamed HOYA CANDEO OPTRONICS Corporation, will aim to expand its business operations under this new organizational group structure.
In the past, the aforementioned divisions supplied the semi-conductor, flat-panel display and photoelectric component manufacturing sectors with optical technology-related products. These products have been successful in their respective fields because of the loyal patronage from our customers.
The restructuring will combine the technological and developmental capabilities of the two business organizations, and we firmly believe that this will allow the new company to develop solutions that better respond to our customers' needs and provide you with more detail-oriented service.
